One might have thought that a college grad could write at graduate level...

I once read an article stating that it's better to not communicate at higher levels as most of your audience will not be at the same level.

It changes with every post for me. I have fun copying the address for individual posts into the "grader". I've gotten from Elementary school to Genius. Lds.org is consistantly "genius".

I wonder how they determine that.

At first I got High School, but then tried Mae's trick of putting in individual posts. I put in all my recent ones and got Genius on them all. Yeah, I'm curious too how they calculate that. Fun.

I've tried individual posts on blogs that had a lot of blatant mispelled words and they got a rating of Genius. So I think the "bigger" the word, or if they don't know the word, it makes it "smarter". Hmmm...I'll have to look into the fine print on that page or see if I can figure something out in their html code. I'm curious!

I tested it out with various websites and blogs. I got fairly high on mine (postgrad) but I eventually determined that it hands out rankings based on nothing but randomness. Orson Scott Card's website got "elementary level" while seriouslysoblessed got "genius." Hmmm....
Something like this could work, but it would need to look at grammar, difficulty of words, sentence lengths, etc. to be any good.
