Happy Mother's Day!
In honor of Mother's Day (and also because I've been meaning to do it for two weeks!) I planted forget-me-nots in my front planter box today. Forget-me-nots are my mother's favorite flower, and when we got to Alaska I learned that they are also the Alaskan state flower! How cool is that?!

Happy Mother's Day!
Those are beautiful flowers, I can see why they are a favorite!
A related story: For our last formal Enrichment night, each Sister got to choose a pot with some seeds in it, and take it home and help it grow (it had to do with the theme of the night). A challenge was set to see how well people could do with caring for it (like caring for our Sisters), and bring them back to the next Enrichment night to show others.
I picked Forget-me-nots, and at the time, I couldn't remember what they would look like once they bloomed.
I set my flower pot in the floor of my car on the way home, since it was the most level spot I could find, and yeah.... it didn't survive the first turn. All the dirt and seeds spilled out together, all over the floor. Sigh. I would have loved to watch them grow, and enjoy them...
Beautiful! Forget-Me-Nots are my favorite flower, too. I've tried a few times to grow them in Utah, but they just don't do well here. When we lived in AK, we had them in our yard and I often saw them growing wild. I miss them.
Beautiful! And Happy Mother's day to you. I hope you had a great one.
